New Picture Books Helping Seniors Learn to Use the
Computer
Available for free
pdf downloads during introduction
May 2, 2006 – Senior citizens learning to use the
computer or new software, are giving good reviews to the new In
Pictures, a new brand of computer how-to books, which was launched
today. The books are based on pictures rather than text. Most computer
books contain 50,000-100,000 words, but In Pictures books contain only
5000 or so, or one-tenth as many words. For a limited time, In Pictures
books can be downloaded for free, according to the Website.
"We think the best way to promote them is to let
people try them. If you like them, spread the word," it states.
In Pictures books are geared towards beginners.
They enable people with no knowledge of a program to easily learn it.
"These books get good reviews from senior citizens, but they work for
people of all ages," says Chris Charuhas, the founder of In Pictures.
"Their 'pictures, not words' approach can help anyone learn computer
subjects easily."
The books are provided in electronic Adobe PDF
format. Instead of ordering a bound book online and waiting days for it
to arrive, individuals can purchase and download In Pictures books in
minutes at
http://www.inpics.net.
The new books are also being promoted in a new way:
with free downloads. While print-quality files of In Pictures books are
$3.95 each, low-resolution screen-quality files are free to download.
This "free book" offer is expected to last through May.
In Pictures books are published by Visibooks, LLC,
based in Frederick, MD. The company publishes two brands of computer
books: In Pictures how-to books for individuals, and Visibooks textbooks
for classroom and corporate use. In Pictures books are available at
http://www.inpics.net.
