Find A Legitimate Source for Canadian Drugs Online

June 18, 2004 – One of the worries about trying to buy prescription drugs on the Internet, particularly from foreign countries, like Canada, is the quality of the drugs you order. Is this really the drug I order, or just a fake? Now there is help at PharmacyChecker.com.

PharmacyChecker.com, a leading independent evaluator of mail order and online pharmacies, is advising consumers to shop around before deciding to purchase a Medicare discount drug card. On the same day that Medicare discount cards went into use, June 1, consumers also gained free online access to PharmacyChecker.com's price comparisons across Canadian and U.S. discount pharmacies on over 1500 drugs. Access to this information previously required paid subscription.

By shopping at some of the 30 licensed Canadian pharmacies listed at www.pharmacychecker.com, consumers can save 33% to 78% more than with Medicare discount cards on popular brand name drugs (see table below). For example, Lipitor (20mg - 100 pills) can be purchased for $276.54 using the Medicare discount card. PharmacyChecker.com shows the same drug available for only for $167.08 from a licensed Canadian online pharmacy that partners with a licensed New Zealand pharmacy, circumventing pharmaceutical supply restrictions in Canada. Lower prices on many generic drugs can also be obtained from licensed U.S. wholesale and discount pharmacies listed on PharmacyChecker.com.

PharmacyChecker.com President and founder Dr. Tod Cooperman, MD, said, "It is with great pleasure that we can offer seniors and others information that can save them many thousands of dollars a year while shopping at safe mail-order and online pharmacies." A paid subscription ($19.95/year) is still available at PharmacyChecker.com and provides additional discounts and special offers from participating pharmacies.

PharmacyChecker.com is privately held and based in White Plains, New York. It has no ownership in or from companies that sell or distribute pharmacy products. Its ratings and price comparisons are available online at www.pharmacychecker.com. Its ratings will also be published in paperback this July in PharmacyChecker.com Guide to Low-Cost Canadian and U.S. Pharmacies 2004, which can be pre-ordered from 800-431-1579. PharmacyChecker.com also publishes a business-level reports on price trends and the popularity of specific drugs online.
