Senior Travelers Can Find Fall Bargains
in Renting Owner-Direct Vacation Homes
September 21, 2006 – The hottest niche trend in the
travel business is owner-direct vacation rental homes and it is a market
that retirees and other senior citizens may want to take advantage of in
the next couple of months when rates are at their lowest, according to
Destination Villas. The company offers vacation rentals by owner in
popular resorts around the world.
"Seniors can find discounted rental rates in the
fall. September and October offer the greatest savings," reports Tori
Milan, Senior Travel Editor for Destination Villas. "The kids are back
in school, summer vacations are a distant memory and most vacation
homeowners have vacancies they would like to fill. Owners are also more
likely to offer discounts when they have large blocks of time vacant."
Vacation rental homes and villas are usually
located in the heart of the resort destination and offer full kitchens,
bedrooms suites, linens, hotel-style amenities such as maid service,
concierge, and wireless internet. Vacation homes range from California
beach houses, ski chalets in Vail or Park City, Las Vegas condos or Maui
condos. One of the nicest times to travel is in the off-season, when the
crowds have gone home and the weather is still warm.
An easy way to find vacation homes for rent by
owner is on the web. A Nielsen/Net rating study reported that 86% of
internet users over the age 50 are booking travel online, citing that
travel websites are more popular with the over 50+ crowd than their
younger counterparts.
Sites like DestinationVillas.com offer homes in
hundreds of resort destinations. Users can search by destination, price,
number of bedrooms, or amenities. DestinationVillas.com is designed as a
listing service for property owners to list a vacation property for rent
and for travelers to find vacation rental properties.
