The 200-page, 4-color catalog, the company says, is
Grand Circle's most complete collection of small ship vacations and is
chock-full of well-paced and priced experiences that are sure to meet
the interests, demands, and budgets of experienced American travelers.
"Whether it's a leisurely river cruise along the
Nile, a journey on the Rhine and Danube through the heart of Europe, an
expedition in the GalapΓ‘gos or the Amazon, small ship travel is by far
the most popular way to travel for mature Americans," said Mark C.
Frevert, Grand Circle's Chief Marketing Officer and Chief Architect.
"We've grown from a single river ship built in 1998
to a fleet of 50 small ships today and take pride in offering travelers
high quality experiences at values unmatched by competitors."
Grand Circle's small ships serve two sister brands
in the Grand Circle family: Grand Circle Travel (GCT) and Overseas
Adventure Travel (OAT). In 2005, more than 70,000 Americans chose a
small ship vacation with either GCT or OAT.
Small Ship Vacations with Grand Circle Travel:
With small ships that accommodate just 120-330
passengers, Grand Circle Travel offers travelers a wide range of choices
from voyages along Europe's great Rhine, Main, and Danube rivers from
Amsterdam to the Black Sea, down the Volga and smaller waterways in
Russia and up Egypt's fabled Nile all aboard one of Grand Circle's
privately owned ships. Or travelers may opt for one of several small
ship cruises in China, Greece and beyond aboard exclusive charters and
regionally-owned vessels. Additionally, travelers interested in
exploring French Polynesia may choose from several itineraries offered
by Grand Circle's M/S Paul Gauguin, which CondΓ© Nast Traveler has named
the "best small ship in the world."
In 2006, Grand Circle's fleet was named to CondA
Nast Traveler's Gold List of the world's top cruise lines, and was voted
one of the top five small ship cruise lines in the magazine's 2005
Readers' Choice Awards survey. In Travel + Leisure's 2006 World's Best
awards, readers ranked Grand Circle's fleet fifth in the "Top 10 Best
Small-Ship Cruise Lines" in the world.
Prices for a GCT small ship vacation begin at about
$135 a day and include round-trip international air, accommodations,
most or all meals, exclusive services of local Grand Circle Program
Directors, tours and sightseeing, transportation and transfers, an
exclusive "Discovery Series" of educational and cultural activities
designed to connect travelers with local people, customs and cultures,
and more.
Small Ship Adventures with Overseas Adventure
Travel:
With Overseas Adventure Travel, travelers may
choose from a range of small ship adventures all limited to just 16-24
passengers. Smaller than Grand Circle ships, OAT ships ply such exotic
waterways as China's Yangtze, Egypt's Nile, the Greek Islands, Turkey's
Aegean Coast, the Amazon, Patagonia and the Galapagos. Prices begin at
about $165 a day and include round-trip international airfare,
accommodations, most or all meals, exclusive services of a local OAT
Trip Leader, tours and sightseeing, all transportation and transfers,
and exclusive cultural activities designed to connect travelers with
local people, customs and cultures, and more.
New for 2007:
Grand Circle has made enhancements to three popular
voyages for 2007. Grand Circle's "Russian Waterways" river cruise tour
will add centrally-located hotels in St. Petersburg and Moscow to the
cruise to give travelers more opportunities to discover these famed
cities. Its "Eastern Europe to the Black Sea's" itinerary will include
more time in Bucharest, Romania. And last but not least, the M/S Paul
Gauguin will launch a brand-new itinerary to Fiji, Tonga, Cook & Society
Islands.
