• National Senior Games Association (NSGA)
• The NSGA is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to promoting
healthy lifestyles for seniors through education, fitness and sports.
• Association founded in 1985 and is comprised of 50 member state
organizations.
2003 EVENT PRODUCER
• The Hampton Roads Sports Commission. A local organizing committee
(LOC) will be established at a later date.
• The LOC operates through a local staff with guidance from a board of
directors independent from the NSGA board of directors.

• The event attracts more competitors than the 1996 and 2000 Olympic
Summer Games
AGE DIVISIONS
• Individual sports for both men and women compete in 5-year age
increments beginning at age 50 through 100+ (50-54, 55-59, 60-64,
65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80-84, 85-89, 90-94, 95-99, 100+).
• Team sports for both men and women compete in these age divisions
50+, 55+, 60+, 65+, 70+ and 75+
OLDEST COMPETITOR
• Harley Potter, 102, North Carolina. Competed in the 1995 Summer
Senior Sports Classic in San Antonio, Texas in the sport of golf
QUALIFICATION INFORMATION
• Participants must qualify at an NSGA State Qualifying Games
• 25,000-30,000 athletes will qualify to compete in the event
• Athletes must be 50 years old on or before December 31, 2002 |
