Senate Aging Committee Will Hear About Working in
Retirement
Baseballer Frank Robinson, 70, leads witness list
April 26, 2005 Washington Nationals manager Frank
Robinson, who turns 70 in August, will headline a Senate committee
hearing tomorrow on Americans who work past retirement age, according to
a report in the Baltimore Sun. You would not know it, however, from the
Website for the Senate Select Committee on Aging, which has not issued a
news release since February 8.

March 4, 2005 The Senate Aging Committee held a
hearing yesterday entitled Implementation of the Medicare Modernization
Act: Delivering Prescription Drugs to Dual Eligibles, which is one of
the controversial parts of the Medicare bill that becomes effective in
January. The committee, however, posted no notice for the media about
the hearing and the links to testimony do not work today. A video

The hearing, Living Stronger, Earning Longer:
Redefining Retirement In The 21st Century Workplace, is on their
hearing list.
Sen. Herb Kohl of Wisconsin, the panel's ranking
Democrat, told the Associated Press he called the hearing to look into
ways to ensure that older Americans can keep working if they choose.
The Website says the hearing will being at 10 a.m.
tomorrow but lists no location.
