Government Increases Educational Effort on
Medicare Cards
Video, Audio Programs Released by Senate Aging
Committee
June 7, 2004 - Pharmacies have been selling
discounted drugs to those with the Medicare-approved discount cards
since June 1 but the government is answering the slow sign-up by seniors
with new educational efforts.
The U.S. Senate Special Committee on Aging this week presents an edition
of the Washington Report that helps to explain beneficiaries how the
program works.
Even though the cards are in effect, seniors and people with
disabilities can still register to participate because there is no
deadline or late enrollment penalty.
This edition of the Washington Report, in its radio and television
formats, can be seen or heard at the Aging Committees site.
