Health Plan One, L.L.C. describes itself as a “leading online health insurance market” and says the newly redesigned web site - www.medicaresolutions.com - is “for seniors to more quickly compare available Medicare plans and securely enroll in these plans.”

"Each year, seniors are bombarded by more and more choices in Medicare coverage, but with the current economic crisis, finding the most affordable, most comprehensive health plan is even more critical," said Bill Stapleton, chief executive officer of Health Plan One.

"While seniors are increasingly more Web-savvy, we redesigned the site to make the process of comparing and purchasing Medicare coverage even faster and easier, while enhancing the personal service provided by our knowledgeable insurance specialists."

To compare Medicare plans, individuals enter their zip codes and basic demographic information, enabling them to compare multiple Medicare plan options, monthly plan premiums, plan benefits, especially drug coverage, and other policy options.

"Each year, we find that senior citizens have more questions as more companies enter the market and those health plans offer more design options. Is a Medicare supplemental plan best for me? Has my health plan changed the tiers my drugs are in? Is my physician still in the network?" said Stapleton.

"Our service lets senior citizens shop in a safe, no pressure environment with the added bonus of having people at the end of a phone line to answer any questions. We are also prepared to help individuals who might want to make allowable changes through March 31."

While the Annual Open Enrollment period for Medicare ends on Wednesday, December 31, the Open Enrollment period, which runs from January 1 through March 31, 2009, provides Medicare beneficiaries with one additional opportunity to enroll, disenroll or change a Medicare Advantage plan.

There are no time restrictions for changing Medicare supplement plans.

If visitors to the site have questions about the plan offerings or do not see particular plans listed, they may call Health Plan One's customer service line at (800) 328-7305 from 8 a.m. - 8 p.m. (ET), Monday through Friday, and 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. (ET) on Saturday to speak with licensed insurance specialists.
