We received a news release on the video by certified fitness instructor Craig Marcacci and reviewed his promotional film. We cannot vouch for the benefits of the training but Marcacci says it is a “doctor approved regimen that helps senior citizens improve balance, increase flexibility, and ease daily tasks in only a few short weeks.” He says it also improves cardiovascular health, and we have seen numerous studies about how exercise enhances mental abilities, too.

Marcacci also says he has been working with senior citizens and the elderly for over ten years in St. Louis, Missouri.

"Easy Does It!" is a 30 minute, no-impact senior fitness video featuring a cast of his actual students. The video takes the viewer through a series of warm up movements, followed by a mild full body workout and cool down stretching.

He says it is the “first-ever weight training video for senior citizens and the elderly.” Although the marketing targets seniors aged 65, he says in the video preview his classes are those over 75.

Marcacci says the program on the video is the same he has used over the past 10 years training individuals in one-on-one sessions and leading group classes. It has been adapted to a portable video format for use by those who are less able to travel to classes at a gym or cannot afford personal training services.

The video begins with a series of warm up movements, followed by a mild full body workout and cool down stretching.

"Easy does it!" is a no-impact regimen designed specifically to address elderly fitness requirements while keeping safety the highest priority, he emphasizes.

“Any impact is too much impact!” says Marcacci who leads a group of his actual students through the workout on the video.

He says, the video training eliminates the risk of injury by avoiding any impact or quick movements which may cause an older adult to miss a step or suddenly strain tissue.

The news release quotes Dr. Barbara Caciolo, a board certified physician in internal medicine and rhuematology, as saying, “Take back control of your mind and body. Improve both your mental and physical well being with this simple and fun 30 min workout.”

“Very thorough, well structured and well presented, tailored perfectly for the mature adult.” says, Horacio Marafioti, M.D., FACEP.

The available in both VHS and DVD formats. To go directly to the web page offering the video on the CM Fitness site – click here. By scrolling to the bottom of that page you can link to a short video by Craig about the program. It begins with very poor quality but gets better after the introduction.
