Search is on again for oldest U.S.
workers
March 15, 2004 - The oldest worker in the U.S.,
along with the 52 oldest worker located in each state, the District of
Columbian and Puerto Rico, will be recognized in October as part of an
annual campaign by Experience Works to raise awareness of contributions
made by older citizens. Nominations are being solicited on their
Website.
The honoree of the 2004 title will be announced
during Experience Works Prime Time Awards week in Washington, D.C.,

Experience Works is the countrys largest provider
of mature-worker training and employment. They also will recognize top
employers of senior workers as part of their national effort to raise
awareness of the contributions made by older individuals and to break
down barriers associated with the hiring of older workers.
The Experience Works Prime Time Awards is a
yearlong effort to honor mature workers as outstanding role models for a
nation whose workforce is rapidly aging and whose businesses will soon
face a shortage of skilled, reliable employees, says Experience Works
President and CEO Andrea J. Wooten.
To be considered as Americas Oldest Worker,
applicants must work a minimum of 20 hours a week in paid employment.
Applicants or the person nominating them must complete an application
and submit it prior to the deadline of April 30th. The older worker with
the earliest birth date who meets the criteria will be honored as
Americas Oldest Worker. To receive a nomination form by mail, send a

employer, family, or friends.
Dr. Russell Clark, 102, real estate developer and
retired physician, was named the 2003 Americas Oldest Worker. Dr.
Clark, who resides in Orem, Utah, spends his time managing an industrial
park and other real estate investments, writing his life history, and
volunteering when needed. All of the past Americas Oldest Workers have
been over 100 years old and working almost full time at their
professions.
Experience Works is a national, nonprofit
organization that provides training and employment services for mature
workers. Established in 1965 as Green Thumb, and renamed Experience
Works in 2002, the organization reaches more than 125,000 mature
individuals in all 50 states and Puerto Rico each year. Information
