Nov. 17, 2003 - Ten Philadelphia women, 100 years old
and older, were recently honored at the Ten Centuries of Greatness
luncheon. The Ten Centuries of Greatness A Celebration of Life
luncheon was sponsored by Geri-Perk, a West Philadelphia home healthcare
company. Governor Edward G. Rendell and Mayor John F. Street served as
Honorary Chairpersons for the special event. Each of the honorees,
recognized for their accomplishments made to their families and
communities during their 100-plus years, received numerous awards and
accolades from political and professional dignitaries. Serving as hosts
for the afternoon were Gary Cobb of KYW-TV and Ralph Archbold,
Philadelphias own Ben Franklin.
