AARP to Release New Research on Hunger Among
Americas Senior Citizens
Chase Card Services joins to back AARPs Drive to
End Hunger
April 4, 2011 - What would it
be like to spend only $8 per day to cover all of your meals? For 6 million older Americans,
this is not a hypothetical question, according to the AARP Foundation,
which has joined with Chase Card Services to combat senior citizen
hunger in America.
Drive to End Hunger, a
national effort led by AARP and AARP Foundation to solve the problem of
hunger among seniors, will present new research on April 6 that sheds
light on this escalating issue among America's senior population.
Chase is providing the webcast
of the announcement with the hope of making more people aware of the
serious issue of senior hunger in America.
The new information will
examine hunger among senior citizens by region in the U.S. and will make
state information available.
Expected to participate in the
Webcast are Anisa Tootla, Vice President of Hunger, AARP Foundation, and
Emelie Calbick, General Manager, Chase Card Services.
They are also expected to put
emphasis on how Americans can get involved and make a significant impact
on this growing issue.
AARP Foundation says it is
AARP's affiliated charity, and is dedicated to serving vulnerable people
50+ by creating solutions that help them secure the essentials and
achieve their best life. For twenty years, Chase has partnered with AARP
to offer its members the AARPฎ Visaฎ Card from Chase, a card that not
only allows cardmembers the ability to put cash back in their wallet but
also enables them to help others.
