Social Security Announces Ticket to Work States for 2001

Dec. 1, 2000 -- The Social Security Administration will begin implementing the "Ticket to Work" program that was approved at the end of 1999. It is aimed at putting disabled Americans, particularly those on social security, back to work.

The SSA says it is "great news for Social Security beneficiaries who need help returning to work or going to work for the first time. We look forward to bringing the Ticket to Work program to beneficiaries in 13 states (see link below story)  beginning early in 2001. Once you get your ticket, you can offer it to the Employment Network of your choosing. We are committed to increasing opportunities for employment and self-sufficiency. You'll want to find out if your state is part of this first phase."
